About me
Samantha Roberts was born in Vancouver, BC and moved to Sioux Lookout, Ontario in 2014. She completed her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan and her Master of Counselling at the University of Calgary. Samantha is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Samantha also belongs to the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.
Samantha utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy. She believes collaboration, warmth and honesty are key to a successful therapeutic relationship. Samantha uses a strengths-based, solution-focused approach. She is trauma-informed, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is a registered member of EMDR Canada.

Outside of the counselling office, Samantha loves spending time with her son and husband, playing with her dog, Lola, and being outdoors. She is a creative person, growing up a competitive dancer. She is learning how to play piano and enjoys reading, writing and drawing. Samantha is outgoing, kind and compassionate. She genuinely cares about her clients and the people in her community.

Electronic Psychotherapy
Solis Counselling Services offers counselling via video using an encrypted, secure PHIPA-approved platform called Owl. Virtual counselling may also be conducted using telephone or secure messaging depending on each individual client's needs and circumstances.
